Katelynn K.
Private tutor in Orlando, FL
Education
I am currently a doctoral student at the University of Central Florida. I assist in teaching both undergraduate and graduate level courses for students from all different majors. I have a master's in Modeling & Simulation (Engineering) and a bachelor's degree in Psychology. I have worked with students of all ages from elementary to undergraduate to graduate students. I am also a graduate of the Winter Park High School IB program, so I specialize in tutoring Honors/AP/IB students. My approach to tutoring is focused on providing students with individualized help and applied examples, not just repeating lectures or regurgitating class notes. Because of my diverse degrees, I am well versed in many subjects and I am constantly challenging myself to learn more. My tutoring philosophy is to give students the confidence and skills they need to be successful, by building the fundamental knowledge they need and eventually fostering intrinsic motivation for learning. I would be happy to answer any questions you have about my experience and/or qualifications. Please message me to get started!
Experience
I currently mentor undergraduate students as part of my work at UCF and I have experience academically advising undergraduate students. In addition to this experience, I have coached undergraduate students in writing, and I experience working with students who are struggling with English, History, and general study skills. I have also published scientific research papers.
