I currently teach math at the middle school level, and I love my job. I'm well aware of what is required of students in coursework and tests due to my profession. My academic background mostly revolved around music, so I have a lot of unique approaches to help students learn math. I use a lot of activities and movement to help students understand math principles. I also customize my lesson plans to provide activities and skill development that matches the way a student learns. With older students, I get to know them and identify their interests so that I can incorporate these into the lesson to keep them engaged. I don't expect my students to love every subject we study, but I do expect them to enjoy learning. In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano, listening to music, movies, college football, and more.
