Psychology B.S., UCF, 2011 - 3.8 GPA I focused on learning and memory, and did private research into single-celled potentiation. Specifically, I worked to see if single-celled organisms can learn to associate two stimuli, much like Pavlov's dog learned to associate the sound of a bell with the presentation of food.

Experience

I have a TEDx talk which explains my work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZmX2QfJ72U 2 years as a Research Associate at the Hickman Hybrid Systems lab - my work has focused on the automation and analysis of in-vitro electrophysiological systems. Specifically, I have worked to develop neuronal and cardiac cell culture systems on micro-electrode arrays, as well as cardiac and skeletal muscle systems on piezoelectric cantilevers. These systems are used for drug discovery as well as basic biological research. I analyze data from these systems using Python, MATLAB, and C++.

Hobbies

I love reading books that require and reward a certain kind of work. I love intellectual histories, or really any histories. I also tend to like novels written in the 20th century. The writers I've read the most of are Vladimir Nabokov, Richard Rorty, and David Foster Wallace. I'm working on learning French and love any opportunity I get to practice.
