My experience has been with my husband's relatives, they are all american people, and I"ve been teaching them Spanish for the last 3 years: vocabulary, appropriate sentences for each situation, conversation and pronunciation. One of my techniques to teach is a brief comparison between the English and Spanish thus allowing, know that words are the same in both languages so it helps to have a clearer concept and demonstrate how easy it is to learn. Obviously also developed the concepts that the student wants to learn presenting them in an attractive and clear way to be learned.
