I became a tutor because, since I was young, I have enjoyed explaining concepts to others. What I like about tutoring is demonstrating to my students how fun learning can be and how it doesn't have to be difficult when using an approach that meets their learning needs. While getting questions and problems right is important, my personal goal is for your child to actually understand the concept behind what I am teaching.I tutor in several subjects, including math, reading, writing, grammar and mechanics, American History, earth science, physical science, pre-algebra, English, social studies, and test prep. I teach multiple levels of several of the above subjects.I have a master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida, near where I grew up. My family is big and we like getting together when we can. In particular, we like to cook and eat when together, so when I'm not tutoring, I am often trying out new recipes or cooking some of my family's favorites.I also read and write often. The genres I enjoy include fantasy, historical, and theological. C.S. Lewis is my favorite author. I am also a sports fan.
