Hello! My name is Ruth. I am a certified classroom teacher who has recently retired. My husband served in the military, which gave me the opportunity to teach in many places across the United States (Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, Virginia, Hawaii, and California) and in Japan. I have a good grasp of most subjects in early childhood and elementary education, since I have taught at the Pre-K, kindergarten, and 2nd-grade levels. I get a lot of enjoyment in helping students increase their abilities and building their skills. I especially like working with them on Writing and Reading. Those are critical, foundation areas for every subject. I can tutor Elementary Math, Writing, Phonics, Study Skills and Organization, Art, English, and Reading for 1st through 5th grade. In my spare time, I like to read, go to the beach, go for a bike ride, and be with my children and grandchildren.
