Four years ago I earned my undergraduate degree in public relations from Florida A&M University. Since then, I have worked as a tutor in the Orange County Public Schools and as a substitute teacher. Because of my tutoring experience, I was inspired to earn the necessary certification to become a teacher. I currently teach first grade.Through my tutoring and teaching experience, I am comfortable working with a diverse student population, both in terms of culture and abilities. Tutoring is a beneficial partnership for both the student I'm working with and me. I am always gaining new insight on teaching and leading at the same time that I am able to help students improve their academic skills and their work ethic.I am comfortable tutoring students in English, reading, writing, and study skills and organization. While I was in college, I was a newspaper journalist for my school's publication The Famuan. I created different promotional pieces for campaigns, offered guidance to various leaders of organizations, and organized and ran events. I also spent a short amount of time working at the Tallahassee Democrat.When I am not teaching and tutoring, I enjoy the creative pursuits of baking, improvisational comedy, and watercolor painting.
