Private tutor in Orlando, FL

Education

Rollins College, English, 3.7 State University of New York Law School, J.D. with Finance Program, 3.3

Experience

While in college I tutored a number of subjects for the AVID program at Howard Middle School. I also tutored college level Algebra, accounting and writing at Valencia Community College. I currently work part-time as an attorney in the Orlando area. I am looking for additional part-time employment. I've chosen to tutor because I love helping others figure things out! I received tutor training through the AVID program, so I approach tutory with a sort of "socractic" method. My goal is to help the student uncover the answer, rather than tell him/her myself. This method requires showing examples, helping the student create a plan to find a solution, then allowing the student to work through the assignment with feedback from me until he/she finds the answer. Due to my studies, I am able to tutor a number of ages in a variety of subjects.

Hobbies

I grew up in the Orlando area, so I am familiar with the schools, sports teams and of course Disney World! I enjoy being active, particularly practicing yoga or running. I also like to play tennis, golf, and "fetch" with my 6-year-old adopted black lab mix.
