I graduated Johns Hopkins with a degree in psychology and now I am in pursuit of a master's at University of South Florida. I am studying Educational Measurement and Research. I have been involved with tutoring students since I was a teenager, before I had attended college, in fact. I gave private lessons in various science and math subjects as well as helped students prepare for important college exams. When I was in college, I was a teaching assistant and training in instruction for undergrad statistics curriculum, which was tied into my graduate work. I really do not think that an approach that generalizes instruction for all students is a winning strategy. I think students need more individualized training and development to better absorb concepts and details when learning, as well as practice with a trusted guide. In addition to teaching and education, I have a fulfilling personal life, which includes going for a run or swim, taking my dog on walks at the park, and getting plenty of physical activity in throughout the day. I hope to help more students succeed and work toward their goals in life. I enjoy helping others because it helps me learn new things about myself as well.
