I am a tutor who specializes in the sciences. I mainly tutor in biology, but I'm also available to help students with chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, algebra, anatomy, and physiology. I can also help students prepare for standardized tests like the ACT, SAT, and MCAT. I'm currently enrolled at the University of California San Diego where I am pursuing my degree in Human Biology and Education Studies. I am a Teaching Assistant for my university's Biology Department, and I mentor students who live in lower income communities throughout San Diego. I'm experienced tutoring in groups sessions or in one-on-one individual sessions. My philosophy as a tutor is that it isn't my role to bombard students with knowledge, but rather I should be establishing a dialogue in which my students feel comfortable to express themselves and ask questions. I'm very dedicated to maintaining a dynamic of engagement with my students. I have a variety of hobbies outside of educating. I love to play sports, listen to music, and travel abroad. I'm also passionate about playing instruments like the guitar and piano.
