Education

I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I graduated cum laude with a 3.6 GPA with my Bachelor of Science in Political Science. My major was Political Science with a Concentration in Legal Studies and my minor was in Business Administration. I currently attend law school and I am working towards attaining my Juris Doctorate.

Experience

Throughout my education I have tutored many of my friends in math, physics, English, and science and all of them have improved their skills and performance on both homework and tests due to my one on one time with them. In high school I took AP Biology and AP Physics and I received a 1530 on my SAT's (I had foot surgery and was out of school for a month my sophomore year, which was when I was taking geometry and that was why my math score wasn't as high as I would have liked and normally, would have achieved). Additionally, I participated on UTC's Mock Trial team where I was an attorney for two years. My first year ever competing in Mock Trial I was an attorney both semesters and I was appointed team captain my second semester. Unfortunately, our team didn't win a bid to ORCS (Opening Round Competition Series) so we didn't compete past Regionals that year. At the end of my first year participating in Mock Trial my mock trial peers voted and awarded me with the awards of 'Most Dedicated' and 'Most Valuable Team Member.' My second year I was a double attorney and not only did my team win a bid to ORCS, but for the first time in UTC history, my mock trial team and the other mock trial team both won bids to ORCS. Before this UTC had never taken two team to ORCS. I believe that no one is stupid, we all just learn in different ways and at a different pace. Some of us are visual learners and some of us are hands on learners, the way you learn just depends on whether you are a two dimensional learner or a three dimensional learner. I enjoy tutoring people because I know what it feels like to not understand a concept and the satisfaction one gets from finally understanding it. I have ADD myself and I have overcome it and grown from it and I want to be able to teach others how to learn, understand concepts, and get that feeling of satisfaction once they have overcome a hurdle that they didn't know how to before. Hobbies

I enjoy singing, playing guitar, crocheting, and learning new things. If I had unlimited funds I would earn a degree in sociology, psychology, criminal justice, and my current major of political science. I love to learn and I feel like there is always something else that I don't know and I want to know. There will always be someone who is smarter than me and knows more than me, but I strive to learn as much as possible because the more I know, the more intelligent I am and the more I can help others. I love politics and I plan on attending law school to become a lawyer at some point, however, I also enjoy learning how things work. I was that kid who always took things apart and put them back together just to know how they did what they did. My father has always told me if law doesn't work out I should be an engineer because there isn't a thing I can't build or figure out how it works. I hope I have given you valuable information and insight into who I am and I hope that I am a good fit for your tutoring necessities.
