Experience
College level tutoring (organization, study skills, project planning, time management, reading and writing). Elementary classroom teacher (3rd-5th grade, training for students with learning disabilities and Gifted/Talented. My top priorities as an educator are twofold. The first is to provide enthusiasm and passion for teaching through continued learning and personal reflection. I have already begun utilizing the tools and knowledge gained from the Gifted Endorsement courses in my classroom. It is a life-long goal of mine to master differentiated instruction for every level of learning. My second priority is to instill enthusiasm and passion for learning in my students even long after they have left my care. It is important for me to conduct myself in the same respectful manner that I expect from my students and show enthusiasm for every topic I teach. Students need a balanced foundation in skills and information that not only allows them to succeed in the educational system, but also enables them to explore their own individual passions and talents in the greater world. Teachers do not always have the luxury of seeing their efforts realized in the long term but we must work every day to improve the future of every child.
