Experience
I earned my undergraduate degree in biology from General Savannah State University. Upon graduation I had the opportunity to work for the CDC as a research division with a focus on influenza. I began teaching high school science courses in 2009 in Atlanta, and I recently returned to school to become a registered nurse. I believe my real world experience in the fields of science and education have given me invaluable resources to help those students I work with. Some of the courses I tutor include high school and college level biology, microbiology, life sciences, ecology, science, middle school math, and algebra 1. As a teacher I quickly discovered just how different the learning process is for students. Some students learn better by listening to the information while others need to read it or interact with it in a physical way before they are able to assimilate the information and gain true mastery of the concepts. I believe it is important to discover the learning method prior to making any learning plans for a student so that those plans are designed specifically for the students academic needs and learning style. For that reason, no two tutoring sessions are ever the same.
