Experience
I attended the University of Central Florida, where I earned my BS degree in Elementary Education. I worked as a volunteer in a number of local elementary schools, where I focused on helping students by enhancing their self-confidence, which made them more comfortable in their knowledge of the subject at hand. I get a moment of supreme satisfaction when one of my student's eyes light up and they experience that "aha" moment, where they suddenly push through the obstacles they've been having, and realize a clear understanding of a concept they have been struggling so hard to figure out. I've developed a variety of techniques and methods to enhance my student's engagement and interest in any subject we're working on, and get them excited about learning. I do have experience tutoring students in Common Core and Singapore Math. I am also able to tutor subjects including math at all levels, English, reading and writing, study skills and organization, and more. I have also had success in assisting students who are preparing for standardized tests such as the SSAT, the ISEE, and others. When I'm not teaching, I like to stay active by running and participating in other outdoor activities, as well as reading.
