Experience

I used to tutor students in my free time in high school because I wanted to help students be the best they can be. I scored well on my SAT (over 2000) and I also scored very well on all of the 9 AP courses (mostly 4s and 5s). Since I am a STEM major I have taken and aced many courses in mathematics and science such as chemistry, biology, microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, calculus, physics, and many more. I have also been on the Dean's List at UCF for the past several semesters now. Aside from my academic career I am also very involved in the community. I actively participate in and seek out volunteer activities such as pond/trail cleanups, feeding the homeless, and general volunteering. In addition to my academics and volunteering I worked as a Clinical Assistant at a family physician/urgent care clinic and I currently volunteer at a clinic that caters to the less fortunate. I also work in a research lab at University of Central Florida where I conduct experiments to understand the development of Alzheimer’s disease at the molecular level. It is my ambition to help the community and helping students in their academics is my goal.

Hobbies

I love working on cars and I have earned the nickname “handyman Abed” by my family and friends for all of the projects I take on. I also enjoy simply just kicking it with friends, cooking, playing volleyball, ultimate frisbee, and occasionally basketball. When the weather is nice I sometimes go for hikes and mountain biking. I love working with people and working with a team so tutoring students comes naturally to me.
