University of Central Florida - Environmental Journalism Major GPA: 3.6 I currently have my AA degree from the University of Central Florida and I am working towards my BA in Broadcast Journalism with minors in Environmental Science and Energy and Sustainability. Upon graduation, I would like to travel abroad or join the Peace Corp to be an environmental educator. I plan on getting my MA in Environmental Science as well.

Hello, My name is Kaila and I am a full time student at the University Of Central Florida. Welcome to my page! Last Semester, I mentored a middle school girl and helped with her homework on a weekly basis. Other than that, I have no formal tutoring experience, but my fellow classmates are always turning to me for help with homework. I have no issue trying find a viable way for someone to understand a concept no matter how long that takes. I've been in their shoes before and know how frustrating it can be sometimes. We all learn differently and educating someone is also about finding different ways for them to understand and apply concepts you learn about. I enjoy helping others through the learning/studying strategy process. Education is key to a successful future and I love seeing others succeed academically. If I can be apart of that process, it makes it that much more rewarding. I am a proud IB Diploma recipient as of 2013. I successfully passed all of my IB exams with scores of 4 or higher. Some of these courses include IB Environmental Systems and Society and IB Psychology. I've been through the learning process when it comes to developing study skills. I know how to manage my time and prioritize events in my life as well. I would love to share this with other students to see them excel. Outside of IB, I passed several AP classes including US History, and European History.

Hobbies
I am currently apart of an organization called Intellectual Decisions on Environmental Awareness Solutions, or IDEAS. I serve as the Clean-up Coordinator for this group. I go out into the community and find areas that need to be cleaned for the betterment of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. Additionally, I try to incorporate sustainability into everyday living and into the lives of others. I currently have a garden, shop local/organic whenever possible and compost as well. I believe environmental education is the key to a sustainable future and I table for IDEAS at school and at off campus events as well. I have also spoke for my organization at schools and at forums. When I'm not out trying to clean the planet, I enjoy nature and being outdoors. I love visiting the beach, springs, bike trails, doing yoga and I am currently working on my group exercise certification. I am a HUGE bookworm as well. I'm a happy, go-lucky person that loves to help and instill positivity into the lives of others.
